Vélib'
Take a bike from one station in the street and leave it at another. Vélib’ is an easy to use, self-service bike hire system that's available 24/7.
To access the service you need to buy a short-term ticket. There are several options depending on your needs: one day, one week, for an occasional stay or for a whole year. The choice is yours! You buy your ticket at the terminal with your credit card.
The first 30 minutes of any trip are free. If your trip takes more than 30 minutes, the hire charge will be billed to you according to the tariffs of the service: first half hour free, second half hour 1€, third half hour 2€ and 4€ from the fourth half hour.
I Day Ticket - 1.70€ per person.
7 DayTicket - 8€ per person.
How does it work?
Collecting a bike
To hire a bike, identify yourself on the terminal, access the menu and choose a bike from those listed on the screen.
Returning a bike
When you reach your destination, attach your bike at any unoccupied point at any Vélib’ station.
Wait for a few minutes for a beep and the indicator light that confirms the return of the bike.
If you are worried that the return has not been registered, you can identify yourself on the Vélib’ terminal. If your bike is correctly attached, you can print a confirmation of return. If you are unable to do this, the following message is displayed 'Vous avez un vélo en cours de location' ('You have a bike on hire').
